Former Exxon Tax Attorney named Senior VP Human Resources at UST Inc

UST Inc. (NYSE:UST) has announced that the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Maria R. Sharpe as senior vice president of human resources and corporate secretary.

Sharpe has been vice president, human resources and assistant secretary for the past two years, with responsibilities for all human resources functions and corporate governance matters. Before coming to UST in 2004, she held several senior human resources and legal positions at PepsiCo,among them vice president of worldwide benefits, and earlier in her career she was a senior tax attorney and tax consultant for Exxon and Price Waterhouse. Sharpe earned her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and her law degree from Boston University. She resides in Mount Kisco, NY.
