Jeff Erickson has joined Grant Thornton LLP’s National Tax Office in Washington, DC, as a partner and the technical practice leader for partnership taxation matters.

“Grant Thornton presented an opportunity that I could not pass up,” said Erickson. “The firm is growing and thriving with a tremendous opportunity for a transaction-oriented partnership tax leader.”

Erickson brings nearly 15 years of experience in partnership taxation to the firm, including nine years in the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service drafting and reviewing regulations, technical advice and letter rulings. He also spent six years in the national tax offices of Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young where he advised clients on transactions regarding corporate joint ventures, partnership mergers and divisions, international tax and check-the-box issues.

He serves as an adjunct professor in the Taxation of Partnerships at Georgetown University Law Center, and he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a law degree from Capital University Law School in Columbus, OH.

“Jeff’s background with other national tax offices and the IRS will be invaluable in providing the Grant Thornton Experience to our clients with regard to partnership tax matters,” said Dean Jorgensen, Grant Thornton’s National Tax Office managing partner.
