In Hal Hicks, IRS, Skadden Arps

This is an excerpt from the Daily Tax Report dated 22nd January.

“Treasury International Tax Counsel Hal Hicks said he will leave his post Feb. 6 to become a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a prominent Washington, D.C. law firm.

He said his farewells at the mid-year meeting of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation.

ITR definitely got this story first, in an exclusive interview with Hal. BNA broke the news some days later.

What is suprising is that neither the IRS nor Skadden Arps have, as yet, issues formal press releases. Also no word in the major newspapers or financial journals. Very strange.
