Susan Stone advises Dingess-Rum Properties
Baker & McKenzie LLP has announced that it represented Dingess-Rum Properties, Inc., a West Virginia land company, in connection with the sale of approximately 92 million tons of coal and 33,700 acres of surface and timber to Natural Resource Partners L.P. (NYSE: NRP and NYSE: NSP). In return, Dingess-Rum received 2.4 million common units of NRP. The transaction closed on January 16, 2007. At closing, the transaction value was approximately $142 million.

Susan Stone practices primarily in the international tax and business transactions areas. Almost all of Ms. Stone’s work currently involves structuring inbound and outbound transactions for U.S. and foreign clients and implementing global and regional tax minimization strategies. She has particular experience in the tax structuring of foreign oil, gas, energy and related infrastructure projects.
Ms. Stone’s international practice also includes transfer pricing planning and controversy, including competent authority proceedings and advance pricing agreements involving Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom. Before joining Baker & McKenzie in March 2001, Ms. Stone was a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where she practised since 1981.
