Nicolas Harries is promoted at Macfarlanes

Macfarlanes has announced the appointment of four new partners with effect from 1 May 2007. This includes private client tax specialist, Nicholas Harries.

Nicholas, who advises individuals based in or outside the UK on tax and estate planning, specialises in trusts, including the relevant UK taxation principles (particularly concerning offshore trusts), drafting and technical points of trust law. Nicholas is the author of a chapter in Tolley’s Administration of Trusts, the editor of the tax planning chapter of Foster’s Inheritance Tax and a contributor to Simon’s Direct Tax Service.
