UK Firm CLB Coopers promotes Doug Chadwick to Tax Partner
CLB Coopers have promoted Associate Doug Chadwick to Partner, taking effect from 1 April 2007. Doug is the third new partner in the firm this year, in line with their structured growth strategy. A Chartered Tax Adviser since 1992, Doug is the firm’s newest tax partner and is based in their Lancaster office working alongside fellow partners Tony Whiteway and Mark Sykes, managing the Lancaster CLB Coopers tax team.
Originally from Chorley, Doug has spent the last 15 years providing tax advice to businesses in the North West. Doug joined CLB Coopers in October 2000 as Senior Tax Manager having previously worked for one of the Big 4 firm and HM Revenue and Customs. He was made an associate in December 2003. Doug specialises in tax planning for a range of companies from multinationals through to owner managed businesses, as well as advising wealthy individuals [such as senior directors, shareholders, investors, entrepreneurs and sports celebrities]. He is able to approach client issues with a dual perspective.
CLB Coopers Lancaster Office Managing Partner Tony Whiteway says “Doug’s appointment as partner recognises his solid contribution to this firm and the excellent service he has given our clients. He will continue to provide guidance and leadership for the tax team and will be a key element in us achieving our ambitious growth plans. His experience and specialist tax knowledge ensures we offer the highest calibre of tax advice for our clients. Doug is an example of this firm’s best ambition and ability and we are sure that clients will continue to benefit from his advice.”
Doug, now 47, did not study accountancy in his younger days but instead played as a semi-professional footballer with Chorley FC. Currently Doug’s hobbies still include playing football and the more relaxed game of golf.
