Estate Planning Attorney Rust E Reid Wins Award

The international law firm of Thompson & Knight has announced Partner Rust E. Reid as the recipient of the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Dallas Bar Association’s (DBA) Probate Section. The award is given in recognition of Mr. Reid’s 47-year career in trusts and estates law.

Mr. Reid focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, and fiduciary administration. He primarily represents individuals and family groups seeking to plan the disposition of their estates in accordance with their wishes at the least tax cost. Mr. Reid also represents individuals and corporate fiduciaries in trust and estate administration, and private foundations and other organizations in connection with charitable gift-giving. He frequently acts as mediator or expert witness in probate and trust disputes and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Reid is a Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation, a past president of the Dallas Estate Planning Council, and a past chairman of the DBA’s Tax Section.
