Auclair to head Grant Thornton’s (US) National Tax Office

In Arthur Andersen, Grant Thornton, IRS

David Auclair will lead Grant Thornton LLP’s National Tax Office (NTO) as the group’s managing principal. Dean Jorgensen, who previously headed the group, has moved into the role of the New York cluster’s tax practice leader and the Northeast region tax partner.

Grant Thornton’s NTO, based in Washington, DC, supports tax professionals in the firm’s 50 offices by delivering strategic planning, consultation, implementation and compliance services in the full array of tax functional areas.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton in June 2002, Auclair had been with Arthur Andersen’s Office of Federal Tax Services and the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. Since joining the firm, he has been the technical practice leader for accounting methods and periods, and until the recent addition of Walter Goldberg, the technical practice leader for IRS practice and procedure.

“Dave’s collaborative disposition with our practice offices and our people will serve him well in his new role,” said Jorgensen. “Additionally, he has a great leadership team within NTO.”

“This is an exciting time for our tax practice,” said Auclair. “I look forward to building on past collaborative successes and continuing to grow and strengthen the working relationship between NTO and the firm’s operating offices to deliver the Grant Thornton Experience to our people and our clients.”
