Smith & Williamson named as Official Tax Adviser to TEAMORIGIN

Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, has been appointed the ‘Official Tax Adviser to TEAMORIGIN’, the sailing team which will represent Britain’s challenge for the 33rd America’s Cup in Valencia in 2009.

This means that Smith & Williamson, which started working with TEAMORIGIN several months ago, is the first official team partner.

“We are delighted to be working with TEAMORIGIN and wish them every success with their challenge. As Official Tax Adviser, we will be ensuring that the structure through which TEAMORIGIN operates is the most beneficial for this multi-national operation and the people and crew working within it. We will be dealing with international corporate tax and VAT issues, besides providing payroll services and personal tax advice. We are also very pleased to be assisting the team with corporate finance matters,” said Jeremy Boadle, managing director of Tax & Business Services at Smith & Williamson.
