2 new tax hires for Sullivan & Worcester
Sullivan & Worcester LLP has announced that it has added two seasoned attorneys to its tax department, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in tax law.
Christopher M. Flanagan and Douglas S. Stransky were recently named Partners to the firm’s Tax Department. Each brings more than ten years of experience in federal, state and international tax law to the firm.
“Both Chris and Doug have had impressive careers advising their clients on a myriad of tax issues impacting diverse businesses,” said Joel R. Christopher M. Flanagan was most recently a partner at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, where he represented public and private companies in both taxable and tax-free acquisitions and divestitures and one and two-company reorganizations/restructurings. In this role, he was involved in structuring and forming major corporate joint ventures, limited liability companies and large venture capital partnerships. He also covered compliance issues including: securities law disclosure and reporting matters related to private and public equity and debt offerings.

Douglas S. Stransky previously served as a director of International Tax Services and a member of the National Outbound Team at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He has advised a broad range of publicly traded and privately held multinational clients in structuring tax efficient international mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations and designing cross border financing strategies and foreign holding company structures. He also assisted companies with foreign tax credit utilization, foreign treasury and cash flow management, recapitalization of foreign operations to enhance foreign earnings repatriation efficiency and reduce foreign tax burdens.
