King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, has announced that Stephanie B. Casteel has been made a partner in the firm, effective January 1, 2008:

Stephanie (Stevie) Casteel practices in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding LLP, and is a member of the firm’s Tax Practice Group. Ms. Casteel leads the firm’s charitable planning and tax-exempt entity practice, and she also focuses on wealth transfer, business succession planning, and estate administration.

Ms. Casteel is a member of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and serves as Vice-Chair of The Charitable Planning Section of the Charitable Planning and Organizations Group of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association. She serves on the Fiduciary Legislation Committee and the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act Drafting Committee of the Fiduciary Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council.

Ms. Casteel graduated with honors from Agnes Scott College in 1988. She received her law degree with distinction in 1991 from Emory University, where she served as managing editor of the Emory Law Journal and was elected to Order of the Coif. She served from 1991-1992 as law clerk to the Honorable Morey L. Sear of the Eastern District of Louisiana.
