New Transactions Tax Partner at GT London: Paul Cooper
Grant Thornton has appointed Paul Cooper to tax partner in the firm’s London transactions tax team.
Paul, who joined Grant Thornton in June this year, has significant experience in transaction tax having spent over 10 years advising FTSE 100 clients, privately held businesses and private equity funds on a wide range of large UK and pan-European transactions. Paul was previously a director at Terra Firma, the private equity fund and an M&A tax partner at KPMG.
In his role at Grant Thornton, Paul will focus on transactions in the private equity and corporate sectors. He will also provide tax advice for clients undertaking restructurings and re-negotiating finance.
Paul says, “Grant Thornton has a strong transactions tax team with great clients and a high-profile in the market place. I am looking forward to growing the London-based transaction offering and adding value to our client’s deals.”
Stephen Quest, Head of Transactions Tax, comments: “I am delighted that Paul has joined Grant Thornton. His experience bolsters an already strong offering and I am confident the transactions tax team will see growth in deal advice as a result. The current economic climate is challenging, but still offers great opportunity for transactions work.”
