DLA Piper raids Deloitte’s Polish Tax Practice
DLA Piper has announced that a team of seven tax advisors from Deloitte have
joined its Tax practice in Poland. The new team includes Marcin Matyka, who joins as of counsel and will head the practice.
The other members of the team are Monika Poteraj and Dominika Cabaj, who join as directors, and Wojciech Kotala, Szymon Murawski and Bartosz Matusik, who are senior associates. Agnieszka Kobak is due to join the practice as an associate on 1 November 2008. The tax team has extensive legal and economic skills that will assist the largest Polish and international companies. The team is experienced in supporting businesses across a range of sectors including: oil and gas; energy; real estate; chemical; service; heavy industry; FMCG; automotive; financial institutions; telecommunications; defence; and pharmaceutical sectors. They have also worked for governmental institutions and social organisations.
At DLA Piper, the team will advise clients on all tax issues, with particular focus on corporate and personal income tax, real estate tax, value-added tax and international tax law. They will also represent clients in their dealings with tax authorities, prepare transfer pricing analysis, conduct due diligence and assist on mergers and acquisitions.
