Emin Toro gets partnership at Covington & Burling
Covington & Burling LLP has announced that 12 of its lawyers have been elected to the firm’s partnership including new tax partner Emin Toro in the Washington office.
Emin concentrates on the needs of large corporate taxpayers, including both counseling and tax controversies. He has provided counseling on cross-border transfer pricing, international asset transfers, and tax optimal corporate structures, as well as acquisitions and dispositions. His controversy experience includes audits, administrative appeals, and litigation. Mr. Toro clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He received his J.D. with highest honors from the University of North Carolina, where he was articles editor of the Law Review, and his B.A. summa cum laude from Palm Beach Atlantic College.
