Oostvogels Pfister Feyten hires Chokri Bouzidi to lead London tax practice
Oostvogels Pfister Feyten announces today that it has added Luxembourg tax capacity to its London office. As part of the move, Chokri Bouzidi joins the firm from NautaDutilh as Principal to build and head up the department.
Continuing developments in Luxembourg legislation have been important drivers of the move following ongoing interest from the international business communities in Luxembourg’s tax laws. While Oostvogels Pfister Feyten’s larger tax team will continue to reside in Luxembourg, a dedicated department will now practice from London offering close contact with UK clients and contacts. Chokri will be responsible for overseeing and developing the new department.
Chokri commented: “Having direct access to local expertise is an important element of providing sound legal advice. I am very excited about the challenge of managing this department to ensure Luxembourg tax legislation is readily accessible to our UK client base. Few firms currently present this capability so it’s an invaluable service to offer”.
Frédéric Feyten, Tax Partner at Oostvogels Pfister Feyten in Luxembourg commented: “Demand for Luxembourg tax advice has been steadily increasing over the years and we saw this as an opportune time to install a strong tax presence in the UK. With a sound knowledge of the UK market having practiced in London already, Chokri represents the right fit for this new project. Such a strong appointment coincides with our plans to further develop our tax offering over the next few years”.
Chokri previously worked with NautaDutilh in London and prior to that, for several years with Loyens & Loeff in Luxembourg. He has broad experience of structuring cross border transactions through Luxembourg and has a strong background in special investment vehicles (such as SICAR, SIF etc.) as well as regulated and non-regulated real estate funds and related direct and indirect tax aspects. Chokri advises mainly private equity and international financial groups and multinational businesses on direct and indirect tax matters.
