Richard Andersen joins Patton Boggs’ New York Office
Patton Boggs LLP has recruited Richard E. Andersen to join its ranks as a partner in its growing New York office where he will practice tax and international law.
“Richard’s extensive experience in and knowledge of tax, finance and international law make him an invaluable asset to our clients, particularly in this time of economic crisis,” said Jim Tyrrell, managing partner of the firm’s New York and New Jersey offices. “As our New York office continues to grow in both size and prominence, we are proud to have someone of Richard’s caliber join the firm.”
Mr. Andersen’s deep background includes experience in domestic and international corporate reorganizations; acquisitions and divestitures; joint ventures and technology transfers; commercial, asset-based and structured finance; securities offerings and other corporate finance transactions; project financings and privatizations; and private equity and investment funds.
He routinely provides clients with advice on U.S. and international tax aspects of a variety of matters, including real estate acquisitions and dispositions, “greenfield” business operations, corporate mergers and acquisitions and international infrastructure projects.

Before joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Andersen led the New York tax practice at Arnold & Porter. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Columbia University and his law degree from Columbia Law School. Mr. Andersen received his L.L.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, where he currently teaches international law in the Graduate Tax Program. He is fluent in French and German.
