SVB Analytics lures James Walling from PwC’s Valuation Group

Corporate valuation services expert SVB Analytics is growing its team with the addition of a chief operating officer to support increased client demand. Valuations veteran James Walling will manage SVB Analytics’ valuations services team, which counts more than 950 clients to date.

“Demand for valuations to comply with increasingly complex tax regulations and new and evolving fair value accounting standards has been strong and growing since we opened SVB Analytics in 2006, and there are hundreds of private companies out there that still need our help,” said Jim Anderson, president of SVB Analytics. “Jim has the valuation and consulting expertise that will help us continue to meet our clients’ expanding needs for advice. We look forward to his contributions to our clients’ success as well as our continued growth.”

Walling joins SVB Analytics from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s (PwC’s) Valuation Group in San Jose, where he led valuation consulting and focused on complex security and derivative valuation projects as well as tax and financial reporting valuations. Walling has more than 14 years of experience in the field and previously held leadership positions with valuation services groups at both Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Andersen. Walling has also worked for several technology companies such as Appiant, Inc. and Quaartz Inc. and he was co-founder and CFO of ClearPath Technologies. He holds a master’s degree in business administration in finance/investments from Santa Clara University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
