Former Goldmans tax man joins TPA in Asia

Transfer Pricing Associates (TPA), the leading independent provider of global transfer pricing services and part of the TPA Global group, has announced the admission of
Michael Velten to further strengthen the award-winning Asia team and to lead the firm’s global Financial Services practice.

Mr Velten is one of the leading tax practitioners in the Asia Pacific region and brings an unprecedented level of experience to the firm, particularly in the area of financial services transfer pricing.

Most recently, Mr Velten was Global Head of Tax for Asia’s leading independent brokerage and investment group.  Prior to that, he headed the Asia (ex-Japan) Tax Department of a large U.S. Investment Bank.  Velten has also been a tax partner in a leading international law firm as well as a Big 4 accounting firm in the Asia region.

Michael joined TPA on 1 January 2009 and will be based in the Hong Kong office of the firm. He is also the author behind, and owner of, Asia Tax Blog.
