Harneys promotes Zac Lucas to partnership

Harneys has announced that a record eight new partners have been made up including Zac Lucas.

Zac is Head of Harneys’ trust practice and specialises in advising on innovative trust products, including the Share Trust. He is located in the firm’s British Virgin Islands office.

He joined Harneys in 2005 having previously worked as an associate lawyer in the private client department of Russell – Cooke Solicitors in London, focusing mainly on tax planning involving high net worth families and individuals. Zac specializes in all areas of international trust and estate planning with a particular focus on succession planning involving emerging market clients. He has created a number of innovative BVI trust structures, including the “Share Trust” as well as the “Advanced Trust” that involve use of the Virgin Islands Special Trusts Act, 2003. Zac is regularly instructed by leading international law firms, professional trust companies, leading private banks and wealthy private families on all matters relating to BVI and Anguillan trust law.

Zac is a member of the STEP Law Reform Committee in the BVI which is responsible for considering and sponsoring amendments to trust legislation in the BVI.
