Trio from Deloitte Amsterdam join Taxand
A team of three top tax lawyers, from the international tax department of Deloitte in Amsterdam, have joined VMW Taxand to deepen an already well-established tax practice. Roelof Vos joins the firm as a partner and head of the tax law department with two experienced associates, Marc Sanders and Wally van Hall. Plans are in place to build the team still further in the near future.
This reinforcement underpins VMW Taxand’s strategy to expand its client base and its service portfolio. VMW Taxand aims to be the leading independent provider of full-service tax law advice in the Netherlands. VMW Taxand is part of Van Mens & Wisselink, affectionately known in the Netherlands as VMW and Taxand member for the Netherlands for three years. As well as tax law, Van Mens & Wisslink will continue to enhance its other departments focusing on corporate law, employment law and litigation and tax law.
Frédéric Donnedieu de Vabres, Chairman of Taxand commented: “This move by our Dutch member is indicative of the increasing power of our network. All Taxanders – for the ultimate benefit of our clients – have membership commitments which include the delivery of growth, quality service and brand adoption. The endeavour shown by VMW Taxand is exemplary.”
Roelof said: “Leading VMW Taxand is an exciting challenge for me. Expanding an independent tax practice – not burdened by audit-based conflicts of interest – and within Van Mens & Wisselink, is a superb opportunity. Moreover I have worked with many Taxanders before serving multinational clients. I am looking forward to renewing old relationships and building new ones”.
Paul Bavelaar the managing partner of Van Mens & Wisselink added: “Our tax and legal experts pride themselves on providing our clients with a high quality, integrated service. The calibre of our people is fundamental to our success. I am delighted we have succeeded in further
strengthening our tax team. The arrival of Roelof, Marc and Wally and the rebranding of our tax services to VMW Taxand puts us on the right track to enlarging Taxand’s footprint in the Netherlands.”
