Andy Hodge decides to migrate Deloitte (UK) to CCH Personal Tax Software

 In CCH, Deloitte, tax software
[private]Deloitte LLP, one of the UK’s Big Four professional accounting firms, has adopted CCH Personal Tax following a review of its in-house bespoke tax software system and a detailed analysis of the available third-party products.

Deloitte successfully completed the e-filing of 22,000 returns, equating to around 1,200 per day during peak times for the 2008-09 tax year.

Deloitte made the decision to move from its in-house tax software system following the changes HMRC made in the 2007-8 tax year, such as mandatory e-filing and SA100 redesign. Deloitte cited the need for online filing and a point of entry tax solution that integrates with its office applications and global database as key factors in choosing its personal tax software provider.

Andy Hodge, Deloitte’s Tax Partner, says: “We needed to find a suitable replacement for our existing tax solution. It also made sense to take this opportunity to improve our practice efficiency by integrating our global systems hosted in the USA and automating the data transfer where possible.

“Only CCH provided the tools that could make this possible and its tax software was by far the easiest to use, significantly speeding up the completion time for returns. This year we successfully e-filed 22,000 returns with a success rate of over 99%.

“Moving all of our tax practice to the new CCH Personal Tax software was a major decision and one that we took only after a great deal of analysis and testing. We worked very closely with the CCH team to ensure a successful transition to the new software.”

CCH software, part of Wolters Kluwer, enables the automated transfer of data and information between disparate systems, so it was uniquely positioned to offer the tools that answered Deloitte’s needs. With faster business processing through batch processing of tasks, and real-time error checking and workflow to decrease user error, CCH Personal Tax stood out.

Simon Crompton, Managing Director of CCH software, says: “With 48 of the top 50 firms using our software, and after doubling our share in the small to mid sized practice, client feedback on our new tax software is excellent. We have worked very hard to get it right and we are now seeing the positive results of all our efforts. We have worked equally hard with our clients to ensure they get a system that offers the processing efficiencies they require.”[/private]
