Matthew Tripodi – Adelaide. A specialist in superannuation (with a particular focus on self-managed funds), taxation, trust law, complex estate planning and asset protection, Matthew works with trustees of self-managed superannuation funds, large corporate funds, master trusts and fund administrators and employers. He also advises on Federal and State taxes, including income tax, capital gains tax, goods and services tax, stamp duties, payroll tax and land tax, and objections and disputes with revenue authorities. In the estate planning and assets protection area, his clients include high net worth individuals and those with complex arrangements and asset structures. Matthew has previously been based in Minter Ellison’s Hong Kong office as well as with a Magic Circle firm in London, where he advised on the superannuation aspects of large, high-profile, transactions across the UK and Europe.
Adrian Varasso – Melbourne: Adrian specialises in tax and structuring advice for mergers, acquisitions and divestments and advises Australian and international clients on general income tax matters. Recent high profile transactions include Nippon Paper’s acquisition of Paper Australia from PaperlinX Limited and Hertz’s global refinancing and restructure. He is currently advising Degremont SA as a member of a consortium bidding to construct and operate the proposed Victorian desalination plant.
