ATT appoints first ever Technical Officer
The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) has appointed its first Technical Officer, in a move designed to strengthen the organisation’s influence and impact on government and other policy makers.
ATT President David Stedman said:
“I am delighted that the ATT has appointed its first Technical Officer. There was a high level of response to the advertisement from many high calibre candidates; following a rigorous selection process and interviews I am pleased to announce that[private] John Kimmer has been appointed. John’s ATT pedigree is outstanding, having been President from 1999 to 2001, during which time he instigated the setting up of the Association’s Technical Committee.
“John will be working three days a week for the ATT and for the rest of his time will continue to run his own practice. This will keep him involved with the practical issues that face members and complement the input he will no doubt be getting from the wider ATT membership. John’s role will include supporting members of our Technical Committee, drafting responses to relevant consultations, representing the ATT in meetings with HM Revenue and Customs and other bodies, and liaising with the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Low Incomes Tax Reform Group Technical Officers.
“Overall, this is a major step forward for the ATT in our goal of raising our game and making our voice heard. I wish John well in his new and challenging role and I look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
