McCullough jumps ship from Ernst & Young to Blake Dawson
Blake Dawson has appointed Peter McCullough as a partner in its direct tax practice in Sydney.
Peter joins the firm after more than 15 years as a partner at global accounting firms Ernst & Young and Deloitte, where he built a leading reputation in providing transactional advice to some of the nation’s blue chip companies and investment banks.
As part of Ernst & Young’s Transactional Tax Team, Peter worked across a wide range of sectors including financial services, manufacturing and retail, defence, property and tourism as well as privatisations and utilities. Peter also led accounts for major Australian and multinational clients.
Peter brings with him a specialisation in international taxation with a long history in advising in-bound and out-bound multinationals on Australian tax matters. He also helped establish Deloitte’s International Tax Group in Australia, as well as heading the firm’s NSW tax practice for several years.
Leader of Blake Dawson’s Banking & Finance, Insolvency and Tax Practice, Ray Mainsbridge, said Peter’s appointment is an exciting development: “The addition of Peter will bring increased depth to the firm’s already strong direct tax practice, enabling us to deliver an even more comprehensive service to our clients.”
