RigNet promotes Tonya McDermott to VP Tax
RigNet, Inc. , a leading global provider of managed communications solutions for the oil and gas industry, has named Tonya McDermott to the position of vice president of Tax, announced Marty Jimmerson, RigNet’s chief financial officer.
“This appointment is in recognition of Tonya’s excellent contributions toward and leadership over RigNet’s tax compliance. Additionally, she was invaluable during RigNet’s public offering and continues to be a valued member of the RigNet team,” said Jimmerson. He further added, “we look forward to her continued involvement in RigNet’s growth as a public company.”
Ms. McDermott manages RigNet’s tax function, including global tax compliance, income tax accounting, and strategic planning and restructuring. She most recently was director of Tax at W-H Energy Services, an oilfield services company based in Houston with multi-national operations. Prior to that, she was a partner with a local private firm and a tax manager with Arthur Andersen. A registered CPA, she has an M.S. in Tax from Texas A&M University and a B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington.
