The South African Institute of Tax Practitioners appoints new Deputy Chief Executive

The Board of the The South African Institute of Tax Practitioners last week appointed Alton Netshivhungululu, a former senior SARS official, as the Deputy Chief Executive of the Institute.

Alton will be responsible to lead the transformation program and strategy of the Instuitute. In addition, the appointment also serves as the succession planning for the current Chief Executive, Stiaan Klue.

Avhashoni Alton Netshivhungululu was formerly Assistant General Manager: Direct Taxes in the South African Revenue Service, where he worked for more than 20 years. He served as the chairperson of the Tax Appeal Committee for a period of more than five years and represented SARS in the Commonwealth Association for Tax Administrators (CATA) from 1989 to 2004 as a CATA Management Committee member.
