Nicki Demby joins Matt Ellis’ group at Deloitte from Towers Watson
Deloitte has appointed Nicki Demby as a partner to its expanding Global Employer Services practice. Nicki is the sixth partner appointment to the team in six months.

The six partner appointments to the Deloitte global employer services group over the past six months include:
Nicki Demby, who has joined the executive compensation team from Towers Watson, is a well known adviser to the Boards of FTSE-100 and 250 companies. She has over 25 years’ experience in advising companies in the UK and internationally on remuneration strategy, pay benchmarking, short and long term incentive design, the effective communication of reward and consultation with institutional investors.
Nick Hipwell joined Deloitte from Clifford Chance in August. He is a share plans lawyer with over 12 years experience of advising public and private companies based in the UK and overseas on the design and operation of their share plans. He also has extensive experience of advising major multinationals on the legal issues relevant to the operation of their share plans globally.
John Lewis joined Deloitte from Ernst & Young in September. Based in the firm’s Reading office, he has 25 years experience in advising on all employment tax related matters. John specialises in HMRC employer compliance investigations, having previously been a criminal investigator for HMRC.
James Macpherson joined Deloitte from PwC earlier this year and has over 20 years experience working in the international mobility area. In particular, he has led a number of global engagements for clients based in the UK and within Norway in both the financial services and the oil & gas sectors.
Mitul Shah was promoted to partner on 1st December. He has over 12 years experience advising companies and their remuneration committees on all aspects of executive compensation. He also has extensive experience on designing and implementing incentive plans globally, advising on the tax, structuring and regulatory aspects.
James Warwick is an employment tax specialist based in London. Promoted to partner in July, he works with a range of large employers but has a primary focus on the financial services industry. James advises employers on the taxation of pay and reward, managing their employment tax risks and compliance obligations. He joined Deloitte in 2002.
