Erik Scheer is new Global Head of Tax at Baker & McKenzie
Baker & McKenzie has announced its new Executive Committee and made some other leadership changes. Among these are the appointment of Erik Scheer as Chair of the Global Tax Practice Group.
Mr Scheer developed the Indirect Tax practice of the Amsterdam office and Firm. Among the leaders in his field, Mr. Scheer is listed among the 250 Leading Global Tax Lawyers by Tax Director Handbook 2009, and is “highly recommended” in tax by Practical Law Company, Which Lawyer.
Mr. Scheer focuses on advising multinational and Dutch clients, particularly the European and Dutch VAT aspects of cross-border transactions and electronic commerce, customs valuation and customs classification matters. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences, and lecturer at the Dutch Association for Tax Consultants, where he trains VAT specialists. Mr. Scheer is also a lecturer at the “Topmaster Indirect Taxation” postgraduate course on VAT of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
