Charles Beer, formerly a tax partner with KPMG London for over 20 years, has joined Alvarez & Marsal Taxand to build their real estate tax presence.

Charles Beer has advised many of the largest real estate companies and funds on major transactions, and has been closely involved in the development of tax policy and law in the real estate area. Notably he was a member of the technical group which worked on the introduction of UK REITs. He has been a member of the Tax Law Review Committee and of the Tax Committee of the British Property Federation.

Mr Beer was educated at Winchester and Cambridge and started his tax career with KPMG in 1981.
