Tax Attorney Joseph Darby joins Sullivan & Worcester in Boston
Sullivan & Worcester has announced that Joseph B. Darby III has joined the Tax Group as a partner in the Boston office. Mr. Darby is an accomplished author and well-known tax attorney who focuses his practice on individual, business and transactional tax law. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Tax Law.
Mr. Darby is the author of the highly regarded “Practical Guide to Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Sales,” published by CCH (formerly Commerce Clearing House), and he is a recognized authority in the structuring of mergers, acquisitions, business sales and related business transactions. He teaches a course entitled “Tax Aspects of Buying and Selling a Business” at the Boston University School of Law Graduate Tax Program.
Mr. Darby is also an authority on the taxation of intellectual property, including the migration of valuable intellectual property to offshore jurisdictions, and the tax-efficient licensing and/or sale of intellectual property rights.
