Kaye Scholer Tax Partners Gary Gartner and Jeffrey Scheine form Alchemy Capital Planning LLC
Kaye Scholer Tax Partners Gary Gartner and Jeffrey Scheine (pictured) have announced that they have formed Alchemy Capital Planning LLC, a new tax planning and business consulting firm aimed at serving international clientele looking to invest or expand in the US or globally.
“Over the last 25 years, Jeff and I have been advising many of our clients on a full-range of tax and business-related issues that go far beyond traditional legal work,” said Gartner. “As a result, several of these clients have been urging us to develop a consulting firm providing more than traditional tax advisory services. Although we are sad to be leaving Kaye Scholer, we are excited to be launching Alchemy Capital Planning.”
Gartner added that he expected that many Alchemy clients will remain clients of Kaye Scholer as well.
“Our clients will continue to have significant legal needs and over the years many have built robust working relationships with attorneys in Kaye Scholer’s other practices, such as corporate, finance, litigation and national security,” said Gartner. “We expect those relationships to continue.”
Mike Solow, Kaye Scholer’s Managing Partner, concurs. “Gary and Jeff have contributed much as Kaye Scholer partners, largely because they have always been so great at collaborating with other lawyers at the firm to ensure clients had access to the best legal representation possible. We are confident that collaboration will continue and only be strengthened as we will now be able to recommend Alchemy Capital to Kaye Scholer clients in need of business planning and consulting services and vice versa.”
Solow added that Kaye Scholer will continue to offer tax law and wealth management counsel to clients; indeed it recently added West Palm Beach Partner David Hirsberg and London Associate Jeffrey Lee, former head of Head of Business Development at Barclays Wealth Advisory, to its roster of Tax & Private Clients Department lawyers.
