Tax Partner, Dave Strong, gets Managing Partner job at Morrison & Foerster Denver office

Morrison & Foerster has announced that it has named David Strong, a partner in the Firm’s Tax Department, as managing partner of its Denver office. He succeeds Randall Fons.

Mr. Strong works on mergers, acquisitions and other transactions throughout the firm, including collaborating with deal teams based in New York, Palo Alto and San Francisco. He is a nationally recognized authority on tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments, restructurings, distressed situations, IPOs and other types of capital market transactions.

“Dave has distinguished himself as a leader within the firm and the legal profession,” said Larren Nashelsky, chair of Morrison & Foerster. “He has consistently demonstrated the strategic vision, dedication to clients and commitment to excellence needed to lead our Denver office.”

Mr. Nashelsky praised the leadership of Mr. Fons, who helped the firm continue to develop a strong regional presence.

“We are indebted to Randy for his continued contributions to the firm,” said Mr. Nashelsky. “We are confident that Dave will build on this success.”

Mr. Strong is the immediate past chair of the Corporate Tax Committee of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Tax Sections of the New York and Colorado Bar Associations, and has been involved in the Denver Business Forum, Denver Metro “Chamber 100” and the New York Legal Aid Society. Mr. Strong has also served as president and on the board of the Denver chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was associate editor of the Stanford Law Review; his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, where he was graduate editor of the Tax Law Review; and his B.S.B.A. from the University of Denver.
