James Cowper promotes Alex Nicholson to Tax Director

Thames Valley accountants and business advisers, James Cowper, has announced the promotion of Alex Nicholson to Tax Director.

Alex joined the Firm’s tax team just over two years ago and has developed a strong client-base acting for both owner-managed and listed businesses, providing advice on all aspects of business taxation.

James Cowper’s 20-strong Business Tax team advises on a wide range of matters from structuring companies to the disposal and acquisition of businesses. Alex spends a considerable amount of his time working with fast-growing ambitious businesses, including many in the technology sector, with a particular emphasis on both tax efficient financing and international tax issues.

Commenting on his promotion, Alex said: “The Thames Valley is vibrant and home to many great companies. I have been privileged to help many of them structure and arrange their tax affairs in the most efficient way. I am delighted with the promotion and look forward to developing my career further over the coming years.”

In November 2013 James Cowper’s Business Tax team was named Tax Team of the Year at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards for the second time in three years.
