Boutique law firm, Rubric, hires Claire Lewis to lead private client practice
Bath-based law firm Rubric has appointed experienced private client lawyer Claire Lewis as a partner.
Ms Lewis joins Rubric from a highly rated law firm where she led a private client team which is top ranked by the Legal 500.
She handles a wide range of private client matters including estate planning, tax mitigation, wealth preservation, drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney, and estate administration.
James Howell, Rubric partner, said: “Claire has superb credentials in the private client space, in particular the farming and agricultural community, and she is another excellent addition to our growing team.”
“Rubric offers a genuinely different legal service and we have seen an extremely positive response to our proposition. Our cost efficient advice provided by top quality lawyers has clearly had a real impact on our clients and we are seeing a growing demand for our services. It promises to be a busy year for the firm.”
Ms Lewis also has experience dealing with tax issues and succession planning for business owners and high net worth clients, in particular farmers.
Rubric markets itself as offering City quality advice via a streamlined business model using modern technology and outsourced support functions. It also shuns the traditional law firm pyramid hierarchy in favour of a flat structure, offering a team of experienced partners with significant expertise in their practice area.
Ms Lewis said: “Rubric’s innovative approach to delivering legal services is a very attractive proposition. We are able to offer a top-level service to private clients at costs which are considerably lower than those which they would be asked to pay elsewhere.”
