Gavin Bate joins Alma Consulting Group to strengthen their R&D tax team

Gavin Bate has joined Alma Consulting Group to strengthen their R&D tax capabilities.

Mr Bate was formerly Head of Technical Policy for UK R&D tax at KPMG, where he has worked since 2006. Prior to this he was lead technical adviser for R&D and intangible asset regime at HMRC.

Mr Bate will report to Martin Hook, who is Managing Director at Alma Consulting Group in the UK. Alma describe themselves as the European leader in cost consulting.  They have offices in 8 European countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom) as well as Canada.

The consultancy’s main board comprises Herve Amar and Abbas Djobo. They both joined in 2001,  having previously worked at F-Initiatives. Martin Hook has a corporate sales and finance background that included time at Dell and IBM.
