 In Gowlings, taxand

Taxand has announced the appointment of Tim Wach to the newly created role of Managing Director.

Tim comes to the role after over 25 years at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, exclusively Taxand Canada, where he has been a Partner since 1992. He is a highly knowledgeable tax professional with extensive experience in both advisory and policy roles having spent over four years of his career serving in the Tax Policy Branch of the Department of Finance in Ottawa, most recently as Director of Legislative Development and Chief Legislative Counsel. He is recognised as a leading Canadian lawyer in taxation, including in Chambers Global, and frequently publishes papers for research organisations and academic purposes.

This new global role reflects the ongoing development and greater global collaboration across the Taxand organisation and in global taxation. His appointment will see him working across the entire organisation, ensuring it offers an enhanced and seamless cross-border service, with knowledge sharing and best practice at its heart to deliver first class services to its multinational clients.

Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres, Chairman of Taxand, commented ” We are delighted that Tim has accepted the role of Managing Director of Taxand. It’s crucial that we have central oversight of our international operations, which Tim will lead.”

“Our world is evolving rapidly. Clients are facing a truly global and more transparent tax landscape, where authorities are increasingly sharing more information than ever before. It’s crucial that we deliver a seamless cross-border service and consistent advice to our clients. Tim has extensive experience and is well respected across the industry and organisation, and I very much look forward to working closely with him.”

Tim will took up his post on 1 January 2015 and will be based in Toronto, Canada.
