IBFD Senior Principal, Jan de Goede, appointed visiting Tax Professor by Renmin University of China
IBFD has announced that its Senior Principal of Tax Knowledge Management, Professor Jan de Goede, has been named Visiting Professor by the prestigious Renmin University of China in Beijing.
The appointment will be formalized in an academic ceremony to be held during a seminar on recent developments in international tax law at the university on 18 April 2015.
Professor de Goede has an impressive track record in international and European tax law expertise. In this new capacity, he will regularly lecture on international tax law, and will also periodically be involved in organizing an international tax conference in cooperation with Renmin University.
IBFD’s Academic Department already collaborates closely with this highly respected university through their joint research on domestic and international tax law, an alliance which will be further supported by Professor de Goede’s appointment. IBFD’s cooperation with some of the foremost universities is part of its global programme to stimulate research and learning in the fields of international, European and comparative taxation. Professor de Goede’s visiting professorship will contribute to IBFD’s further goal of strengthening its global academic network.
As former Director of the IBFD Knowledge Centre, Professor de Goede has been involved in a broad range of activities, including teaching, government consulting and tax research. He has also chaired the Asian Tax Authorities Symposium and grown IBFD’s network within the OECD, the UN and the ICC. Professor de Goede, currently Senior Principal of Tax Knowledge Management at IBFD, Amsterdam has been Professor of International and European Tax Law at the University of Lodz, Poland, since 2002. He has also been knighted by the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. Professor de Goede’s previous experience includes 19 years at the Dutch Ministry of Finance where he headed the division on company tax legislation as well as the division on bilateral tax treaties. In 2013, he was appointed as a visiting professor at the Financial University in Moscow, the Russian Federation.
