EY New York promotes Maria Hevia Alvarez to Indirect Tax Partner (a great example of someone having a varied and successful tax career with just one firm)
Maria Hevia Alvarez has made a highly successful transition from EY Europe to EY USA.
Maria trained in indirect tax with EY in Madrid before moving the the Amsterdam practice in 2005. She returned to the Madrid office in 2007 as a Senior Manager but left when she was offered the opportunity to join the US VAT practice in 2010. She has worked in the New York office for the past 5 years, albeit as part of the Dutch Indirect Tax practice.
She has extensive experience with the coordination of multi-jurisdiction international projects relating to Europe, Latin-America and Asia. Predominantly Maria has supported her clients with international transaction tax planning and transaction tax configuration of ERP systems and / or tax engines (bolt-on solutions).
Maria was promoted to Indirect Tax Partner earlier this month. Maria is not a CPA.
