Louise Somerset takes on larger (regional) role at Smith & Williamson
Smith & Williamson has given Louise Somerset a larger role with immediate effect. She will now lead the private client tax teams across four of the Firm’s offices: Cheltenham (which she has been running since joining in 2014), Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. Her focus will be on developing and growing the practices in the four offices.
Commenting to Tax Grotto on her new role Louise said:
“I am very much looking forward to my new role, in which I will be bringing together and helping to strengthen the teams in the four locations with a view to growing and developing our business and offering a wider range of specialist tax services to high net worth individuals across the region.”
Ms Somerset is a highly-regarded private client tax professional. She was a partner with PwC Birmingham until 2001 when she joined Abacus Financial Services. In 2005 she moved to RBC Wealth Management. Most of her team has followed her in each of these moves and she has passed responsibility for the Cheltenham office to her No 2, Krista Woodman.
Louise is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and a founder member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She has a law degree from Girton College, Cambridge.
