Former VP Tax at Lexmark International, Daniel Bork, joins Kentucky Department of Revenue as Commissioner

Daniel Bork has been appointed as Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Revenue.

“I’m pleased that Daniel Bork has accepted this important position within the Finance Cabinet,” said Gov. Bevin. “His expertise in the tax field will serve the Cabinet and the Administration well.”

Bork recently retired as Vice President of Tax for Lexmark International, Inc., a $3.7 billion global technology company. He was responsible for worldwide tax matters, including compliance, planning and strategy to ensure favorable tax rates and improved cash flow.

“I am honored and humbled to serve Gov. Bevin, Sec. Landrum and the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” said Bork. “I look forward to serving with all the other talented people in the Department of Revenue.”

Bork became Vice President of Tax in May 2001. He joined Lexmark in 1996 as Director of Tax after nearly 20 years of experience in U.S. and international tax matters. He previously was Senior Director of Tax for Cray Research Inc. in Eagan, Minn. He also held various senior-level positions with Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P. in Minneapolis, including Director of International Tax Services.

Bork has previously served two six-year terms on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, where he held several different positions. Bork has also served as President of the Kentucky Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute as well as on the Board of the Tax Executive Institute at the national level. He currently serves on the Board and the Executive Committee of Leadership Kentucky and serves as their Investment Committee Chair and on the Board of Visitors for the Martin School of Public Policy at the University of Kentucky.
