James Morand joins the tax team at Cassels Brock in Toronto

Cassels Brock has hired James G. Morand, a leading taxation lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, to the Toronto office. Mr Morand joins from McCarthy Tetrault, where he has worked for the past 28 years as a tax lawyer.

Mr Morand offers clients significant expertise with innovative financial products, REITs, income trusts and M&A transactions. He also has considerable experience in the reorganization of financially troubled companies, having advised on many notable restructurings throughout his distinguished career.

He is consistently recognized by such prominent publications as The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, Best Lawyers in Canada and Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He is also an accomplished author, having written numerous tax papers and commentaries for national and international publications including Lexpert, the International Tax Review, CCH-Focus on Current Cases and European Counsel.
