Michaela Petritz-Klar and Michael Jaffe join the Taylor Wessing tax team
Taylor Wessing has bolstered its cross-border Tax practice with the appointments of leading corporate tax partner Michaela Petritz-Klar as CEE head of Tax and international tax and compensation expert Michael Jaffe as a partner in the tax team in Paris.
Michaela joins from Schönherr, where she was head of Tax. With wide experience in tax law, Michaela is a renowned tax expert in Austria. She specialises in M&A transactions, private equity, capital markets, restructurings, corporate tax planning, project finance, high net worth individuals and funds.
Michaela Petritz-Klar said: “After years of being active in tax law and heading a team in Austria, I now very much look forward to building up and heading an international team.”
Michael joins from PwC Société d’Avocats, where he was Managing Partner for France and Francophone Africa. He has over 30 years of experience advising companies on their international tax and compensation and benefits issues and is a member of the Paris, New York and California bars. As an expert in remuneration packages and international mobility, he will enhance the international ‘Private Client’ offering of the firm.
Michael Jaffe added: “I am very pleased to join Taylor Wessing France. My arrival represents a business opportunity for new synergies in terms of cross-selling, especially with the UK and German offices and I will be a key contact for our American clients wishing to develop their projects in France.”
