Andrew Snowdon has been appointed as Head of Tax in the London office of UHY Hacker Young. He takes over this role from Roy Maugham, who has been with the firm for 29 years, having served in the profession for more than 50 years.
Andrew joined UHY Hacker Young earlier this year having previously been a partner at MacIntyre Hudson, where he worked for 14 years.
Andrew has over 30 years of experience advising clients on a wide range of tax issues – including all areas of corporate tax, employee remuneration and share plans, personal taxes and professional partnerships.
The London tax practice is the largest in the UK and acts for clients in all areas of business, from publicly quoted companies to sole traders. Andrew will be taking over a growing department, working closely with the UHY network’s international offices in 99 countries.
Andrew commented: “UHY Hacker Young is one of the leading tax advisers in the UK for businesses and individuals. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead this department.”
“Roy has done an excellent job building and expanding the tax department during his time as head of the department, and I look forward to following in his footsteps.”
“The London tax department is full of outstanding individuals. I am looking forward to working with all my colleagues in the London office and the UHY Hacker Young offices across both our national and international networks in my new role.
Roy Maugham, the outgoing Head of Tax, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Head of Tax at UHY Hacker Young in London, especially working with such a professional team. With Andrew taking over at the helm, I am sure the department will go from strength to strength.”
