Dr Marie-Theres Rämer joins DLA Piper’s Frankfurt tax practice
DLA Piper has announced that Dr Marie-Theres Rämer will join the firm as a partner in its Tax practice, based in Frankfurt.
Marie-Theres Rämer will join the firm from Clifford Chance, where she has worked since 2006 and was promoted to Counsel in 2013. She advises on all issues of national and international tax. She specialises inter alia on tax issues arising from restructuring measures, non-performing-loan transactions, including the transfer of loan portfolios, securitization transactions, real estate transactions, employee share plans, leasing transactions, structuring of financial instruments and financing plans, documentation of transfer prices and FATCA and CRS compliance.

Marie-Theres Rämer’s appointment continues a period of expansion for DLA Piper’s international Tax group. Earlier this week, the firm announced the hire of Dimitar Hristov as a partner in Austria. This followed a three-partner team hire in France two weeks ago, with Sylvie Vansteenkiste, Raphaël Béra and Fanny Combourieu joining the firm’s Paris office. In January, DLA Piper announced the hire of Milan-based partner, Federico Pacelli, to lead the Italian Transfer Pricing team, and Leeds-based partner David Smith. In addition to these new senior hires, during the last 12 months the firm has launched new Tax practices in the Middle East and South Africa.
