Financial products tax lawyer Siamak Mostafavi joins Dentons
Dentons has strengthened its Tax practice with the recruitment of Siamak Mostafavi as a senior counsel in Paris. He is recognized as a leading lawyer in the Paris market in terms of the taxation of financial transactions, particularly in structured finance, capital market transactions and related derivatives. He advises primarily international financial institutions and investment funds.
Prior to joining Dentons, Siamak Mostafavi was a partner in the Tax and Banking and Finance departments of Jones Day. Before that, he headed the Tax team at Allen & Overy’s Paris office, which he founded in 1999, after having worked as a partner in Gide’s Tax department. He is a graduate of HEC, ISA (1983) and has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1992.
Mostafavi’s arrival follows that of partner Julien Bacus, who recently strengthened the firm’s Banking and Finance group in Paris. Their complementary specialties in structured finance, capital markets and derivatives will provide the firm’s clients, particularly financial institutions, with a full range of services in a post-Brexit environment.
