Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Devon Bodoh has joined the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office as a partner. Mr. Bodoh will be a senior member of Weil’s market-leading global Tax Department and will join its leadership team. He will also be the head of the Firm’s international and cross-border Tax practice.

“We are delighted that Devon has joined the Firm,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “His particular expertise in the area of international taxation will further enhance Weil’s capabilities advising clients on their most complex global M&A transactions.”

“Devon is a well-known and very talented tax practitioner, and we’re pleased to welcome him to Weil, following the addition of our new Tax Department Co-Chair Joe Pari in December,” commented Paul Wessel, Co-Chair of Weil’s Tax Department and head of its Executive Compensation and Benefits Group. “I’ve worked with both Devon and Joe previously, and I am excited to see how their expertise will contribute to further developing Weil’s elite global Tax practice.”

Mr. Bodoh joins Weil from KPMG LLP, where he was a member of the Washington National Tax Group and the leader of the Global Complex Transactions group. He was also the Principal-in-Charge of the Washington National Tax International M&A Group, and a member of KPMG’s global leadership group for International Tax and Deal Advisory (M&A) Tax. He advises clients on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, inversions, spin-offs, other divisive strategies, restructurings, bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy workouts, the use of net operating losses, foreign tax credits, deficits and other tax attributes, and consolidated return matters. Prior to joining KPMG in 2010, he was a partner at another major law firm.

Mr. Bodoh commented: “I am very happy to join Weil and once again work alongside a number of my former law firm colleagues, including Paul Wessel and Joe Pari in the Tax Department, and Corporate Department Chair Michael Aiello. I look forward to working with Weil’s talented lawyers and to advising the Firm’s sophisticated global clients on their most significant, market-leading transactions. I am honored to have worked with so many distinguished professionals at KPMG and hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with them once again in my new role.”
