Phil Melia joins RSM Cambridge from PwC

 In RSM

RSM has appointed Phil Melia as a new corporate tax director for the firm’s new Cambridge office.

Phil will be working alongside Cambridge office managing partner Laragh Jeanroy to expand RSM’s services to the Cambridgeshire region.

Phil joins RSM having spent much of his 18-year career in Big 4 firms (Deloitte and PwC), with the last three years specifically focused on tax and wider services for scaling tech companies in Cambridge and East Anglia. Prior to that, he was based in Silicon Valley, California for three years, where he was the in-house tax & treasury director for an AIM listed tech company.

Phil has extensive experience of working with scaling businesses, from entrepreneurs through to rapidly expanding multinationals. He brings both tax technical expertise and a pragmatic approach to advising businesses, particularly those going international or expanding so rapidly that they can’t keep on top of their tax issues and opportunities.

Laragh Jeanroy, RSM managing partner in Cambridge said, ‘I look forward to working closely with Phil to build out our Cambridge office. The Cambridgeshire market forms an important part of our wider regional strategic growth plan. Phil is already widely known in the Cambridge market and brings a wealth of experience and passion that will greatly enhance our services and presence in the region.’

Phil added, ‘I love working with entrepreneurs and I’m excited to be joining a firm that is so ambitious for the Cambridgeshire market. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and bringing the best of RSM to the market, focused on pragmatic and quality tax services.’
