Fieldfisher recruits Peter Golden as Head of Private Client practice
Fieldfisher has announced the appointment of Peter Golden as the new Head of its Private Client practice. Peter will join the firm from Linklaters this autumn, where he has led the trusts team since 2016.
Peter’s experience encompasses a broad range of trust, private client and charity work, with a large proportion of offshore clients primarily in the ultra-high net worth (UHNW) bracket and foreign nationals based in the UK.
Having previously advised private clients at Withers and Forsters before joining Linklaters, Peter has established a reputation as a leading specialist in wills and trusts and as an expert in the ongoing management of his clients’ assets, affairs and estates.
He will join Fieldfisher’s existing private client team, freeing up the current head of the practice, Penny Wotton, to devote more time to the firm’s impressive charity client base while supporting the continued growth of the firm’s private client practice.
Peter and Penny will be also be joined by Alistair Robertson from Linklaters who is joining Fieldfisher as a partner.
Alistair joined Linklaters in 2016 as a managing associate, having previously worked in the international private client department of Lawrence Graham (now Gowling WLG), where he also trained.
Alistair advises international individuals, families, trustees, family offices and private banks on succession planning, personal taxation and trust law. Alistair has a particular focus on UHNW clients in the Far East.
Fieldfisher’s private client team works closely with the firm’s wider tax team, and is supported by its sector-leading corporate, real estate and dispute resolution expertise, to provide an integrated service to Fieldfisher’s UK and non-UK domiciled clients.
Commenting on Peter’s appointment, Derek Hill, partner, Head of Tax and Structuring, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome Peter and Alistair to the firm to build on the success of our existing private client and wider tax practice – areas where we see significant potential to expand our client base and enhance our reputation.
