Ulf Andresen joins DLA Piper tax team in Frankfurt
DLA Piper has announced that Ulf Andresen will be joining the firm as a partner in its Tax practice, based in Frankfurt. Ulf will be joining the firm from PwC, where he headed the Frankfurt Transfer Pricing Group since 2015 and also the German Financial Services Transfer Pricing Group since 2013. He previously spent more than 11 years with another big four firm in Germany. Ulf will be joined by counsel Thomas Gericke and associate Thore Holtrichter.
Ulf has substantial experience in serving multinational groups of companies in structuring their cross-border activities, assisting with the implementation of such structures in particular in post-merger integration settings, evaluating the tax accounting impact, and defending these structures in tax audits. He has particular experience in transfer pricing controversy situations, and with respect to the taxation of permanent establishments and financial services transfer pricing.
Dr Benjamin Parameswaran and Dr Konrad Rohde, co-country managing partners of DLA Piper in Germany, said: “Ulf’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to invest in our international Tax practice and expand our capabilities, particularly in Transfer Pricing. This area of law is becoming increasingly important, not just because of the many changes in the international tax landscape, but also because being on top of compliance is vital not only in managing tax risk but also in managing the wider business impacts that may result from non-compliant policy. We are very pleased to have someone of Ulf’s caliber joining us and we look forward to working with him.”
Global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Tax practice, Roderik Bouwman, said: “The addition of Ulf and his team to our German tax group is not only an important expansion of our German tax team but is also a perfect fit with our rapidly growing global transfer pricing practice, in particular in the financial services sector. With Ulf and his team we are taking a further step towards our strategic objective to offer a fully integrated international tax offering to our clients.”
