New tax hires at KPMG USA
Dan DeRocco joins KPMG’s Ignition Tax Data & Analytics practice as a managing director. Most recently, he served as the president and CEO of Datanoi, Inc. Previously, at other Big Four firms, he led teams of tax and technology specialists to solve client challenges with process and technology solutions.
Kate Law joins KPMG U.S. as a principal in its State and Local Tax practice. She joins our U.S. firm after 19 years in the Sydney and Perth offices of KPMG Australia, where she served most recently as a partner in the Indirect Tax practice and specialized in VAT.
Aaron Schafer joins KPMG as a managing director in its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. He joins from PwC, where as a SALT director in the Asset and Wealth Management group, he led compliance engagements for fund-of-funds and management companies and provided audit defense assistance.
George Hayes joins KPMG’s Tax Asset Management practice as a partner based in San Francisco. He joins KPMG from another Big Four firm, where he was a member of its New York Real Estate Tax practice for a decade.
Jeremy Jester has rejoined KPMG as a managing director in its SALT practice. He has nearly 15 years of SALT consulting experience. He joins from PwC, where he served Indirect Tax clients across many different industries in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
Kshipra Thareja joins KPMG as a managing director in its Global Mobility Services practice. She has nearly 20 years of experience in global mobility strategy, policy, contingent workers and BEPS implications stemming from employee mobility. She joins KPMG from EY, where she served most recently as the Americas leader for Global Mobility Policies and Global Employment Organizations.
Brett Thompson joins KPMG as a principal in its Economic and Valuation Services practice, based in New York. He joins from EY, where he was most recently a principal in Transaction Advisory Services.
Matt Hodgen joins KPMG as a managing director in its Business Tax Services Asset Management practice, based in Los Angeles. Most recently, he served as vice president of tax and accounting at Clearlake Capital Group.
Gary Price joins KPMG as a principal in its Family Office practice. He joins from Georgia Pacific LLC, where he led the tax department as vice president of tax.
Jay Carreno rejoins KPMG’s Business Tax Services practice as a managing director based in Miami. Most recently he worked in the global tax compliance and reporting organization of EY.
Mindy Mayo joins KPMG as a managing director in its Global Mobility Services practice. Prior to joining KPMG, she headed the Human Capital Tax practice at a tax and consulting services firm, where she led teams advising organizations in such areas as financial and operational risk management, process improvement and strategic management.
Darren Vincent Abadi rejoins KPMG as a managing director in its Business Tax Services New York Financial Services Real Estate practice. He has 15 years of public accounting experience leading global tax compliance engagements for large PE, real estate, and venture capital funds, along with related fund management companies.
Clint Munsell rejoins KPMG as a partner in its Business Tax Services Asset Management practice based in Dallas. He rejoins KPMG from USAA, where as assistant vice president of tax he was responsible for all tax matters related to the company’s real estate and asset management business.
Michael Liu joins KPMG’s International Tax practice as a principal based in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining KPMG, Mike served as a partner with the law firms Morgan Lewis and Bockius and with Baker McKenzie. At both firms, Mike advised U.S. multinational clients on domestic and international tax planning.
